About this course

May 8th, 2024

1:00 p.m EST – 3:00 p.m EST

All workshops are conducted via Zoom.

How does your school determine whether your incoming international students have sufficient financial resources to live and study in the United States?  DSOs are not required to be bankers or accountants, but we are required to review documentation from our incoming students that shows they have sufficient funds available to pay all of their expenses during the entire time of their anticipated study at our schools.
In this workshop, we will review best practices to ensure that our schools are fulfilling this regulatory responsibility.  We will review the difference between “cash on hand” and “capability” and consider what are the best documents to rely upon to do so.  We will look at developing standard operating procedures that relate to individual schools that are based on regulation and policy and compare them to DOS and USCIS practices as well.  And, as always, we will work through several case studies drawn from actual scenarios to show you how to put into practice the principles we have learned in the workshop.
