The Beginning of SEVIS Education & Consulting
I am excited to announce the beginning of SEVIS Education & Consulting, LLC. I would never be here today without attending most of the workshops at IETS with June Sadowski-Devarez. Time and time again as I walked out the doors of the Watson Hotel in New York where June conducted her workshops, I was amazed by how much I didn’t know before I took the classes and how much I learned taking them. In fact, I was also amazed by how much I thought I knew before taking the workshop only to learn that what I “knew” was actually wrong! Most of us DSOs and ROs know exactly what that feels like.
So I was honored when June approached me in the summer of 2019 and asked if I would be interested in working with her. Would I??? “Absolutely,” I said! And we began training together that fall.
I know I would still be training with her now if she had not decided to retire at the beginning of 2021. You can believe me when I say I tried to talk her out of it. Her leaving the field was going to be a big loss for all of us.
At this point, my hope is that with the creation of SEVIS Education and Consulting, LLC, I will be able to carry on the good work that June began more than 30 years ago. I have already contacted several PDSOs and ROs who are planning to join me in this new venture. I know we will have “big shoes to fill,” but June has taught us well.
